In this video, Joe is performing final post-heat at approximately 180 degrees during a paint protection film installation. Post-heating is used to release the film’s memory after installation so it settles correctly and holds its shape over time. Recessed channels, grooves, and tight body lines are high-tension areas. If these areas are not properly post-heated, the film can lift or create bubbling later. By applying controlled heat to these radiuses and contours, we relax the material and reduce the risk of edge failure or air pockets forming. Paint protection film does not behave like standard vinyl. It requires proper post-heating to stabilize the installation, especially in complex body lines.
